LAURITZEN GARDENS
Lauritzen Gardens is a botanical garden located in the heart of Omaha. The garden is spread across a vast expanse of 100 acres and features an extensive collection of plants from everywhere.

Visitors to the garden can explore a variety of specialized gardens, each with its own unique theme and style. Opening hours are between 9 am and 5 pm everyday, however, closing hours may vary during holidays.

Parking: Lauritzen Gardens features free parking for approximately 550 cars in its unique parking garden. Motorcoach and bus parking is also available near the front entrance. For safety, motorcoaches and buses must unload in this parking area rather than from the front circle drive.

Entrance to the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory is included in the regular price of admission and is free to garden members.
Attractions:
One of the most popular attractions at Lauritzen Gardens is the rose garden, which is home to more than 1,300 rose bushes of various colors and sizes. The Victorian garden is another must-see area, with its stunning collection of ornamental plants and elegant fountains. Visitors can also take a stroll through the model railroad garden, which features several miniature trains running through a beautifully landscaped garden setting.
In addition to the specialized gardens, Lauritzen Gardens also hosts various educational programs and events throughout the year. The Holiday Poinsettia Show is a popular winter exhibit that showcases the beauty of poinsettias and other festive plants. Another popular event is the Metamorphosis Butterfly Exhibit, which allows visitors to witness the lifecycle of butterflies up close.

Kenefick Park is a unique park located in Omaha, Nebraska, featuring a collection of historic trains and locomotives. The park is named after Eugene A. Kenefick, a former Union Pacific Railroad executive, and is situated adjacent to the Union Pacific Railroad's Harriman Dispatch Center.
The highlight of Kenefick Park is the collection of trains and locomotives that are on display. Visitors can explore the steam locomotive, Centennial No. 6900, which was built in 1969 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. The locomotive stands at an impressive 98 feet long and weighs over 1.2 million pounds.
Another fascinating exhibit is the Big Boy No. 4023, which is one of the largest steam locomotives ever built. Visitors can climb aboard the locomotive and take a look at the intricate machinery and controls that were used to power the massive machine.
In addition to the trains and locomotives, Kenefick Park also features a beautiful observation deck that offers stunning views of the surrounding area. Visitors can see the dispatch center in action, as well as the trains passing through the area.
